Shell Rotella SuperRigs Opens Virtual Doors for 2025 Competition

Drivers unable to make the trek to Georgia can still compete for the People’s Choice title while supporting the St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund.

ATLANTA, Ga. — Shell Rotella is bringing back the virtual entry option for the 2025 SuperRigs competition, allowing owner-operators across North America to compete for the coveted People’s Choice Award without needing to be physically present at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.

The annual event, scheduled for May 29-31, 2025, remains one of the industry's most visible stages for custom iron. By opening a digital portal, organizers ensure that any CDL-A driver who maintains a show-quality rig can participate, regardless of current freight lanes or geographic location. This initiative shifts the focus toward accessibility, acknowledging that many professional drivers cannot afford the downtime required to park their trucks in Atlanta for a multi-day event.

Entries must be submitted through the dedicated portal at super-rigs.mymilesmatter.com before the deadline of 4 p.m. Central Time on May 15. Public voting begins the following morning at 8 a.m. and concludes on May 30 at 4 p.m. Each cast ballot triggers a $1 donation to the St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund, an organization in Knoxville, Tennessee, dedicated to assisting drivers facing financial hardship due to medical emergencies.

What This Means for Drivers

For the average owner-operator, this virtual category provides a rare opportunity to gain national recognition without sacrificing revenue-generating days on the road. The competition is stiff, as evidenced by last year’s winner, Jeff Hoke, who took the crown with his 2023 Peterbilt 389. Drivers should prepare high-quality photography and documentation of their rig’s modifications to stand out in the crowded digital field. Those who do manage to make the trip to Atlanta will find more than $25,000 in cash and prizes distributed across 20 categories, alongside the chance to secure a spot in the 2026 SuperRigs calendar.

Industry Reaction

The involvement of industry veterans like Land Line’s Jami Jones and OOIDA’s Doug Morris on the judging panel underscores the event's credibility among the rank-and-file. By keeping the People’s Choice award tied to a charitable cause, the organizers have effectively bridged the gap between a flashy truck show and the harsh realities of the road. Many trucking companies hiring today view participation in such events as a sign of a driver's dedication to their craft, often signaling a level of pride that translates well to fleet maintenance and safety records.

Key Points

  • Virtual entries must be submitted by 4 p.m. CT on May 15, 2025.
  • Public voting runs from May 16 through May 30, with $1 per vote donated to charity.
  • The event features over $25,000 in total cash and prizes for participants.
  • Twelve selected drivers will earn a feature spot in the official 2026 SuperRigs calendar.
