Nationwide — The REAL Women in Trucking association announced that nominations are now open for its sixth annual Queen of the Road award, adding two fresh categories to spotlight top‑performing female drivers.
The honor has become a benchmark for excellence among women behind the wheel, recognizing those who not only master the rig but also embody the R.E.A.L. values of reaching out, encouraging others, achieving personal success, and showing leadership. By highlighting role models, the program aims to attract more women to the industry and retain talent that can navigate long hauls, variable weather, and tight schedules.
To qualify for Queen of the Road, a nominee must hold a current commercial driver’s license, have solo tractor‑trailer experience, and meet the organization’s R.E.A.L. standards. The new Trainer of the Year award targets women who have logged at least three years across diverse climates and terrains, remain accessible to students after graduation, and actively teach in the field, on a range, or in a classroom. Rookie of the Year candidates need six to twelve months of accident‑free driving and must be solo‑qualified CDL‑A holders committed to safety. Nominations close on January 13, and every nominee receives a lifetime RWIT membership plus a limited‑edition event t‑shirt.
