Grapevine, Texas — RaceTrac unveiled its 100th high‑flow diesel location at 3955 Grapevine Mills Parkway, completing a network upgrade that now delivers diesel and DEF directly from the pump.

The addition strengthens a program that began in 2018, when the company first committed to building a dedicated diesel corridor for professional drivers. High‑flow canopies address the need for rapid refueling on long hauls, a factor that can shave minutes off a day’s mileage and keep trucks moving on tight schedules.

RaceTrac first opened the Grapevine site in 2019 and recently installed a rear canopy that couples high‑flow diesel with on‑pump diesel exhaust fluid. Both RaceTrac and its sister brand RaceWay now sport canopies designed for the rig’s clearance and flow requirements. Mark Reese, vice president of operations, facility management, data analytics, loss prevention, and store support, emphasized that running its own fleet gives the company a driver’s‑seat view of fuel logistics. "Operating our own fleet gives us firsthand knowledge of what it takes to keep trucks on the road and profitable for their operators," Reese said.

What This Means for Drivers

CDL‑A drivers and owner‑operators can pull into the Grapevine location and fill up at a rate that matches a tractor‑trailer’s demand, eliminating the bottleneck of standard pumps. The on‑pump DEF eliminates a separate stop for fluid, cutting down paperwork and reducing the chance of a missed emission check. Mobile payment options from ONRAMP and Relay let drivers settle the bill from a handheld device, keeping the lane clear and the receipt digital. Truck parking spaces at the site give OTR truck drivers a safe place to rest without hunting for a lot, while freshly prepared food and beverage options keep crews fueled for the next leg.

Industry Reaction

Fleet managers across the Midwest and South have praised the move, noting that a reliable high‑flow network eases route planning and reduces deadhead miles. A spokesperson for the Owner‑Operator Independent Drivers Association said the expansion demonstrates that private fuel retailers are listening to the trucking community’s call for faster, more convenient service. The broader market sees the trend as a signal that more convenience chains may follow suit, potentially reshaping the fueling landscape for long‑haul carriers.
