Developed jointly with the Traton Group, the S13 combines a revised A26‑derived engine, a six‑speed automated transmission and a selective catalytic reduction unit that together claim up to a 15% improvement over the first‑generation A26 setup. Navistar’s internal testing shows a 12‑14% reduction in gallons per 100 miles under typical OTR loads. The powertrain debuts alongside an aerodynamic package that adds diesel‑exhaust‑fluid and fuel‑filter closeouts, a lower‑skirt trim revision, a steering‑wheel seal and a roof extender designed to smooth airflow on highway runs.
