Simpsonville, KY — Prime Inc. driver Jonathan Adams earned the Highway Angel designation from the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) after rescuing a trapped victim from a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 64. The Grand Rapids, Minnesota-based CDL-A driver witnessed a passenger vehicle abruptly veer across lanes and trigger a second vehicle to roll multiple times before taking action. Adams, a U.S. Air Force veteran with prior law enforcement training, pulled his rig over around 4 p.m. on June 24, 2023, to manage the scene and extract an injured occupant.

Adams works for Springfield, Missouri-based Prime Inc., where his background as a former CPR instructor shaped his response to the emergency. Upon arriving at the wreckage, Adams confirmed three passengers had already exited the overturned vehicle but learned a fourth remained inside. He forced the door open, located the severely injured passenger, and carried the individual to safety on the roadside. Adams immediately secured the scene by shutting down the disabled vehicle and disconnecting the battery to eliminate fire risks.
