Washington, D.C. — The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has announced it will renew its requirement that motor carriers keep detailed records of every commercial motor vehicle accident.
\nThe agency says the new information collection request aligns with the Department of Transportation’s strategic goal of safety, adding that gathering accident data strengthens FMCSA’s ability to assess carrier performance and supports efforts to prevent and reduce the severity of CMV crashes.
