Chicago, Illinois — CFI’s annual Truckloads of Treasures holiday giving campaign raised $41,000 this year, pushing the program’s lifetime contributions past the $1 million mark since its 1993 launch.
\nThe move follows a year in which freight costs spiked and driver shortages tightened the industry’s already fragile supply chain. Amid those pressures, CFI’s employees stepped up, donating every dollar of the $41,000 haul to charities chosen by their coworkers. The initiative reflects a growing trend among carriers to use holiday drives as a morale booster and community outreach tool.
\nGreg Orr, CFI’s president, praised the effort in a statement released on September 10. “Given the current economic climate, finding extra dollars for charity can be a tall task,” Orr said. “We live in extraordinary times, and I could not be prouder of our associates and their determination. With the geopolitical stress and demands of our day‑to‑day lives, it would be easy to pause on charity. Instead, our associates continued to think of others in need first and gave from the heart.” The money goes to underserved families, children, and the elderly during December, benefiting local, national, and international recipients. CFI says the drive supports critical needs of community service organizations in the cities where its employees live and work across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
